Bit of a crash...

Ever have those days when you really shouldn't have gotten out of bed. That is today for me. Woke up knocked by clock off the stand and broke it. Working at home, as I was sending a file to my boss, system down. Figured I'd just ride on in and drop off the file. On my way out to my Wee, I stubbed my boot on a loose board on the deck and when head over heals down the steps and head first onto the sidewalk. All I can say is it is a damn good thing that I was going for a ride as I already had my gear on. I have ridden motorcycles for twenty five years and I have never had a crash were I ruined my helmet. Today I did and I wasn't even on the bike, cracked the thing right down the middle. I am starting to think that I should be putting the helmet on as I get off my Strom lol

No, I didn't get on my bike. I actually had my wife drive me into the office. From there we went to the local Suzuki dealer and I bought a new helmet. The parts/accessories guy couldn't beleive the damage to the helmet. They all had a good laugh too.

Crash

Dude, I'm glad we can laugh because you weren't hurt. Sucks to be out a helmet, but if it was a hard enough landing to break it in half then I guess it was money well spent! Hope tomorrow goes better for ya.

So was it a polycarbonate shelled helmet over 5 years old?

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Greywolf, yeah polycarbonate but more like 7 or 8 years old, I think, and it had some old decals on it too. My brother put some nifty pinstipes on it lol. I'm thinking that this was a good thing. If it had been a headder on the Wee...I probably wouldn't be typing this.

On a brighter note, I took the Wee mudding this afternoon to make me feel better. Nothing like some mud and controlled terror to make you feel alright

Just admit it. You wanted a new helmet and no one was looking when you smashed it on the sidewalk. Glad you were not hurt. Keep on mudding.
