Jim Winterer rides a Wee. He's on the Yahoo group DL650 : DL650 V-Strom
I haven't seen him here or at VSRI.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

A 1000 miles is easy on a strom. I rode from San Franciso to Whistler BC last year and did not even realise I did 1057 miles till I was doing my trip log the following morning.
I rode for aprox, 150 miles, gassed, had a smoke, and a stretch. On I:5 I was covering the 150 miles in 2 hours with time for my little routine.

I do remember stopping at noon in Roseburg OR for lunch having covered 460 miles in the 6 hours since I left.
A good lunch, a little nap and I was on my way again to the border crossing and by 7.30, I was in Canada.
After a brief stop in Vancouver, I rode north and Basically just pulled over on the side of the road and put up my tent.
I was sound asleep by 11.00pm, not even realising I had just done an Iron butt, me just wanting to get miles behind me on the way to Alaska.

Last year the IBA 10,000 miles in 10 day event was won by an Oregon rider on a Wee. Very solid mount the Wee is.

He's done the IBR two or three times, hasn't he? Nice guy. I get the daily digest but don't read it very often.

I think he's done it a lot. Jim's a high class guy who has chosen a Yamaha SR500 single, then a DL650 for IBA events. Google Jim Winterer with and without IBA.

I'm not trying to split hairs, but considering the current state of animosity between the IBA and the MERA it's worthwhile to point out that the 10-n-10 Rally is a MERA (Motorcycle Endurance Rider Assoc) event.

Ken Morton on a Wee did win the event.

What?? Was that just a cast??

25,000 miles over an 11 day event is 2272 per day (average). Not possible.

This year to be a finisher in the IBR each rider must hit all of the lower 48 and make mandatory checkpoints. IBR staff anticipates the most competitive riders will accumulate around 13,000 miles.
