Got my new DL1000K6
. . . did the paperwork on 31 August and took the long way home on 1 September. It was a 411 mile trip in all, complete with a 160 mile ride south through the Sacramento mountains of southern New Mexico before turning around and heading north for home in rain, wind, hail, sunshine every now and then, and pulling into my driveway at 9:45 pm. I was on the last leg of my return, heading north on NM Hwy 41, and marveling at all the insects being splattered on my windscreen and face shield when I saw a blur in the headlights and got hit by what must have been a bat. There was blood on my helmet when I got home.
The guys I road south with, and left in Timberon when I had to head home, just called me and said they had to stay in Timberon last night because the weather turned so bad. Then they took off for home this morning and got pounded again before pulling into Cloudcroft so they could warm up and dry out.
Any day of riding a motorcycle is an adventure and I'll never regret one minute of it.
I'm back in the group again after my DL1000K5 was totaled last March. I'm a happy guy who's loving life . . . especially on a motorcycle.
You ain't bragging if you can do it
