Got my new DL1000K6

. . . did the paperwork on 31 August and took the long way home on 1 September. It was a 411 mile trip in all, complete with a 160 mile ride south through the Sacramento mountains of southern New Mexico before turning around and heading north for home in rain, wind, hail, sunshine every now and then, and pulling into my driveway at 9:45 pm. I was on the last leg of my return, heading north on NM Hwy 41, and marveling at all the insects being splattered on my windscreen and face shield when I saw a blur in the headlights and got hit by what must have been a bat. There was blood on my helmet when I got home.
The guys I road south with, and left in Timberon when I had to head home, just called me and said they had to stay in Timberon last night because the weather turned so bad. Then they took off for home this morning and got pounded again before pulling into Cloudcroft so they could warm up and dry out.
Any day of riding a motorcycle is an adventure and I'll never regret one minute of it.
I'm back in the group again after my DL1000K5 was totaled last March. I'm a happy guy who's loving life . . . especially on a motorcycle.

Thanks:
Mine's red too.
I see on your list of ownership a number of other bikes, and I know what they are. But what, "exactly," is the color Silverdammit?

Many of the folks that see the 86 paint - a dark silver - want to call it grey. The answer has always been, "Silverdammit!"

I picked up my new DL1000K6 in Albuquerque on the 29th of August. 3 weeks and 2600 miles later, I'm still grinning. I've been to Farmington, Socorro, and Cloudcroft, in rain and shine, and it just handles it all like a champ.

Looks like there are a few V-Stroms in Albuquerque. We're going to have to get together for a ride sometime

I was somewhat planning on a trip up to Taos with a buddy, but I could maybe work something else out. My buddy is on a Lightning, so he's not up for a really long ride. But he's up for riding with me to Abq probably. What time are you thinking?

Send me a private message and I'll get you some contact details.
