So i just bought a K5dl1k and it has the kouba links on it lowering it two inches. How can i tell if it has a stock height centerstand or not?

when the bike it up on the stand, the rear tire is about three inches above the ground.

on another note, any body want to trade some -2 links for some stock ones or even raising links? PM me.

If the bike comes up on the center stand fairly easily it's probably shortened. If you bust a gut, it's not.

Kouba links lower the rear 1-1/8", the maximum or the tire can hit the fender.

i have a lowered wee and a stock height stand, it's no problem to get up on the stand, if you don't try to pull the bike up, but rather stand on the foot for the stand and lift straight up on the front and back. i would guess that your stand is stock. Look and see if you can tell where it was cut and welded back together to make sure. 3'' is taller than my wheel when on the stand, though, and mine is stock.

Centerstand on lowered Vee

Welcome to Stromtrooper! I see you're in Mill Creek. I live out near Silver Firs, so only a hop, skip, and a jump away.

My Vee has been lowered one inch. I recently purchased a new centerstand and when on the stand the rear wheel is at least 3 inches off the ground. I have not been successful in getting the bike up on the centerstand without rolling the rear wheel up on something first. Just a minor inconvenience.

Damn.... going 2 1'8" in the other direction. That bike must have been way to low for you. Yeah I think you centerdtand was at stock height also. You might be cutting it close with the rear wheel barely getting off the ground if you put 1" shorter links in.

I have been custom-adjusting my sidestand and centerstands for years--I weld at home in my garage, and if you weld or know someone who welds it is gratifying to have everything work easily. When on the center stand the rear tire should be only an inch or so off the pavement, but some are strong and can lift the bike higher, but once you have a custom 'adjusted' center stand it makes life so nice, and ANYONE can put it on the centerstand when it fits right. If you were nearby I'd offer to modify your centerstand for free. Some other strommers who weld might do it for you as well.
