650 vs 1000

thank you for your thoughts. Summarizing the discussion: it all comes down to choice and what you want. Both are great bikes. One other question. Does one bike have a history of being more reliable than the other?

They are bot reliable but they are different.

The 1000 obviously will wear out chains, sprockets and tyres quicker than the 650 so if you include those items then it is less reliable. The 1000's have had issues where the throttle bodies need to be balanced properly for correct performance and also some clutch chudder issues but neither of these things causes breakdowns.
