Saving road trip routes

Just wondering if you know any good online tools for recording or saving the routes you've done on your different road trips in the past. The only option I know of really is using MyMaps with Google Maps. It has to be easy to share the routes with friends as well.

thanks,
Marcus

Do you have a GPS which can track them? With Garmin units you can upload them to Garmin Connect and get all sorts of stats. Here's one of mine from a while ago.

Another option is Metzler Maps. Another of mine.

Garmin Mapsource will let you create a route or as above use tracks to record ones

Higher end Garmins and Tomtoms let you load a route.

The GPS will direct you on your route like a destination and if off track directs you back to your route not a destination

I use Tyre which can be downloaded free from the TomTom site. The software uses google maps and/ or google earth with all the components like street view and is compatible with Garmin and TomTom as well as others.

Yup, great tool. I use Tripmaster on my TT units to record tracks.

Never met a dog I didn't like, a machine I couldn't break, or a woman I couldn't tick off.
