2007's

Went by me dealer to get some info on the bike. Very few 06's out there at the dealers. He said that when Suzuki makes changes in a bike that they don't release them until about Dec.
When are the 07 DL1000's coming out? Anybody got any inside info, should I buy now or wait and see what the 07 has in store.

If the 2006 meets your needs, why wait until december? There's nice riding weather going to waste. Or, maybe you should wait for the 2008's, or maybe the 2009's.... :? Hell, forget about the Strom and get a Tiger - no, maybe a GS?

Just do it and quit whining. There's still a few around.

December? Are you waiting for an ABS bike cause the dealers in my area already have the 07 DL1000s and DL650s in stock. I asked the floor manager and he said the high sales stores got the first shipment the 2nd week of August with the rest of the order, not including ABS bikes, in early september.

You must not be in the U.S.? I've not seen any info on an 07 DL1000 release in the U.S. All of the dealers I've spoken to from Northern Cali to Seattle have all stated that the entire Suzuki line won't be released until after the September bike show in California. If you have any info, please post a link.

If you're looking for an 06 DL1000, there are a bunch in showrooms in the Portland and Seattle area.

Skyrider,

I was a bit wrong. The 07 DL1000 will not be out till later but the 07 nonABS DL650s are out now. Sorry, I contacted the dealer and he said "Woops, did I imply that the DL1000 in the show room was an 07, sorry about that." lol I know that the 07 DL650 is out because I bought one last week Sorry to confuse the issue. Oh, and I a in Iowa, so I figured if they were here then they were everywhere.

Saw this at the AMA Superbike races last Sat. - Suzuki was the major sponsor of the weekend, and had a large factory display. The Suzuki rep there said it was a '07 DL1000. Looks like they just changed the mask and side panels color from black to silver...

Does anybody know if the 07 is gong to have ABS? That would be worth waiting for, but I agree that if the 07 is the "same" as the previous years that there would be no need to wait, other than the local dealer can't get me one!

But, back to my original question about what aftermarket equipment should I consider. I want bags, engine guards, cruise, heated grips, heated seat, better wind protection like the RT has, but I want this bike.

Who makes a trailer hitch? I have seen a photo of a Strom towing a trailer and may want to also.

Don't know about an ABS option but one little thing that you may not have noticed is the addition of rubber heel plates on new models to protect the famous thin Suzuki paintwork.

Be warned though, they have a tendancy to fall off easily

A friend of mine who helps out at my local delaership 'borrowed' a pair but by the time we got to Brands Hatch for WSB, one had gone missing :x

A little bit of glue, however, should cure the problem.
