Where are you? It doesn't sound like you are home.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Near a walmart? They have threads/repair kits. Worst case sceanrio the green stuff in the bottle. My first thread lasted 15-30 miles. I installed it incorrectly. If you have installed one incorrectly you can "feel" difference when it 's installed correctedly.

Good Luck,
Les

I don't understand why your plug is failing in a simple nail hole. What kind of plug is it?

It really looked more like a screw in that it was mangled a little. Instead of a dead day waiting for a dealer to open in OKC, I motored on to Amarillo. 230 miles isn't much to brag about but considering 3 more plugs (5 total) and a can of fix a flat that really just looked like a volcano experiment, I'm glad I'm a little further west.

Sounds like you need a better tire repair kit. A good set of T-handled jobs, with a good-sized rasp...the hole needs to be uniform & clean. Quality strings (the Slime ones or Tech brand are the best, IMHO), and get them properly seated. I've put dozens of string plugs in tires over the years and never ever had one leak or fail.

Never met a dog I didn't like, a machine I couldn't break, or a woman I couldn't tick off.
