What can I fit from my 650 to a 1000?

I have been entertaining the idea of going to a 1000 from my 650. I really dont want to give up the ABS but I am consideirng it. I have quite a few farkles on my 650 and I am curious what will and wont work. Some I am pretty certian on but I will list my farkles in question out just so I am not suprised by anything.

Elka 3 way rear shock
RR fork brace
RR mirror extenders
RR GPS mount
sonic springs
Suzuki centersand
Suzuki OEM heated grips

I just need to know of any of this will fit or not.

Elka 3 way rear shock will fit physically but it is set up for a lighter bike. Elka can re-valve and spring it if you don't like it.

RR fork brace- no

RR mirror extenders-yes

RR GPS mount- yes

sonic springs- don't know for sure but maybe a spacer change would work. Again, the rate is for a lighter bike.

Suzuki centersand- no

Suzuki OEM heated grips- don't know but get after market grips on the new bike anyway. The Suzuki grips are fragile to begin with.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.

Thanks Greywolf. I was thinking the fork brace would have fit but its a good thing I checked. If the Elka would need to be sent back for valving and spring it would probably be easier to sell the shock I have and buy a new one for a 1000. It would be nice that my madstad, GPS mount, GPS system, russell seat will all fit. I just now remembered, arent there different mirror extenders for the 650 and 1000? not that its an expensive mod but whatever i can keep and re-use I will. I am pretty happy with all the mods I have made.

The DL650 left side extender uses a spacer and a longer bolt. If you want to keep both sides the same height, leave off the spacer and get a shorter bolt.

Check the Sonic Springs website to see if the spring rate will work for your weight on the DL1000. If the spring rate is okay for the 1000, you need to use the stock Suzuki DL1000 spring spacers (no need to cut PVC spacers). Check the instructions that came with the springs; they will recommend different fork oil weight depending on your personal weight.

I'm not sure Greywolf is correct on the fork brace. The fork tubes have a different part number because the bottom of the fork tubes on the 1000 are drilled for the bolt that holds the inner rod, and the sliders are taller so the machining inside is a bit different. Otherwise I believe they have the same outer diameter at the top (I use the same seal driver on both bikes). I'll measure my 1000 fork brace this evening (to check not only the diameter of the fork tube but the tube center-to-center distance in case that is the difference), but I really think you might be okay. An email to Richland Rick might provide a simple answer.

I'm positive about the fork brace. RR makes a different brace for each bike. One will not fit the other. One guy got the wrong brace by mistake and it would not come close to fitting.
