GXM-30 Anteena Mounting Location

I have the GXM 30 antenna for my Garmin 2730. I am wondering where thise with this antenna have put theres, or any XM antenna. For right now I planne don putting it under the seat but not sure how good the reception would be there. Eventually I am cosideing mounting it ont op of the license plate light but I dotn have the hardware to screw into the puck right now. I am looking for ideas. The fairing is removed so I have access in there. Eventually I would like to machine a custome bracet for this to mount under there but I dotn have the time to do that. Any pictues of your moutn would be helpfull.

Best place I found for good reception was on my top case. Canada is a little farther north, than CA so I need a good view of the sky. You may be able to put it between the windshield and fairing, it worked about 60% there for me. I don't think it will work under your seat. I eventually got tired of poor reception and the price of XM in Canada so I don't even use it anymore. It's a shame what they charge for traffic and weather via XM when you can get a lifetime sub to FM traffic for about $50.

On the topcase will give you the best reception.

I don't own a GXM-30 anymore, but currently have my GXM-40 on top of the front brake reservoir. That location isn't as good.

Krazy glue it to your helmet then :biggrinjester:

Or you could just put it on the tail where the top case would go.
