AMAZING V-Strom review in latest Cycle World Magazine...

In the most recent issue (September 2006) of Cycle World magazine they have a head to head comparo between the Ducati Multistrada 620 and our beloved Suzuki DL650. The VERY 1st sentence of this 4 page article says..."Okay, let's shortcut this thing. Bottom line, The Suzuki wins.." later on they say..."...The Vstrom (DL650) may just be the most shockingly competent machine in the world today.."...............later on, when comparing the 2 motorcycles handling characteristics they state...." On paper, the 620 (Ducati) should be the better handler. It's lighter and has a shorter wheelbase, wider rubber, stiffer suspension and a more aggressive ass-up, elbows-out riding stance. And make no mistake, the little Duck slingshots around corners, but the V-Strom is absolutely unreal in that regard. It lays into a corner so easily and holds its line so effortlessly that surely the laws of physics have been supended and countersteering is no longer needed. Not the case, of course, but there is some kind of magic going on here. " Go out and buy the issue before it's gone. It's a wonderful review that discusses many of the reasons why we all love this bike....and why we are all so damn smart for having purchased one in the first place

They didn't like the windscreen either. It's a cheap, easy fix for the world's most competent motorcycle though.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.

It's great that this bike keeps on getting rave reviews. The more popular it becomes, the longer the bike will be around. Also, the commercial support for parts and addons will continue to grow.

Good news for all us Stromptroopers.

Moe said, "Are you sure it's okay to fish there?" And Curly said, "Sure, there's a sign that says Fine for Fishing."

I was reading that article last night. I defiantely agree with them, it's a great bike without a doubt.

Did anyone catch that the '07 WeeStrom were coming in an ABS option?

That's old news around here. There are a number of threads containing that information.

Thanks for posting that scan, I haven't gotten my issue yet. Der Alpenführer, I like the sound of that.
