New Suzuki Marketing

Suzuki USA has recently announced "0% down and as low as 1.99% until 2015" dealer financing on "selected models". On their website, you may poke at the various models and each one will display the financing deal for that model.

It's hard to figure what they're thinking. V-Stroms are certainly not among the favored models. DL650 and DL1000 models (whatever year) are getting 6.99% financing offers, while DL650 ABS models are getting 7.99%.

GSXR600's and Boulevard M50's, and IIRC DRZ's, are among those with the 1.99% rate.

The higher the inventory the better the financing. Mediocre rates on the strom indicates relatively low dealer inventory.

Or more importantly I suspect relatively high sales in relation to other models.
Why discount something that is already selling?

This past weekend, I was at my dealership. There was an incentive card dangling from the handlebars of a new DR-650. 1.99% interest.

My Suzuki Dealer has not restocked his Suzuki line. 1 or 2 older models on the showroom floor but totally stocked with the competing brands. I do not think that bodes well for American Suzuki

Doesn't sound that complicated to me. You discount when you want to sell more of something. When it's selling well, you raise the price.

Unless you're a government or a monopoly, of course, in which case the reverse is true.

Monopolies lower their prices when something is selling well? And so do governments? Mmm, wha?

Who else would raise utility rates in response to decreased demand?

But I digress ... :biggrinjester:

Dealerships

Local Smokey Point Cycle Barn.....
Almost no Suzuki Products at all compared to other brands...
I am wondering how Suzuki is doing financialy?
I have not seen a new Vee or wee in stock in over a year...
I asked about it and they said every Strom is presold....
Never makes it to the floor...
They also said they are haveing a very slow time getting any new bikes from the factory...(suzuki)
Good selling bikes will always get the high interest...
