The Vee comes with handguards standard. The Wee has a optional kit available. The right side will fit both bikes although later model guards have a small cutout where the throttle cables go on 2007 and later Wees. The left side is different as the Vee has a hydraulic clutch and the Wee has a cable. They won't interchange.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Greywolf -

I assume you're right (and that I gave incorrect info). I have a 650, and I bought my handguards from Oneida Suzuki. I knew when I bought them that they did not clearly differentiate the two on their web site, so I went and checked it out. The wording in the parts description is less than clear (downright ambiguous), leading me to believe they were the same.

I ordered the hand guards in '07 shortly after buying my new Wee. The dealer said that they would only fit the Vee, but I went ahead based on what I read in this forum.

The guards installed with no problems and no modifications. The instructions were awful, but the installation was not difficult.

The only handguard kit is for the Wee. The Vee comes with it in stock configuration.

I mounted a set of Suzuki handguards on my KLR650--the right side was almost a bolt-on, the left side I made a small bracket to position the guard out to match the right side. My KLR already had bar-end weights which made the guards real easy to install. Be creative, these handguards will fit most bikes if you figure out what is needed for each application.
