Tested the new SW Motech Crashbars Today - What touch up paint do you use?

Are Crashbars gravel magnets? I've had my 650 for a year, and down many a back road. I just put on new SW Motech crash bars last weekend, and this weekend I drop it in low speed slide in the gravel (apparently I put them on just in time).

The good news - the guards worked perfectly! Not a scratch on the plastic. Just some battle scars on my right hand guard and the passenger peg.

It did, however, chew up the finish on the guard pretty well. What paint do people use for touch up? I'm kind of trying to decide between rustoleum and Plasti-kote. Bed liner might be a good idea once they're chipped up a bit more, but right now my guards are looking pretty new other than the new silvery rash they're sporting.

Use Duplicolor in a rattle can. I used it of a set of driving lights and the finish matched the rest of the black parts exactly. It also turned out to be extremely durable. I've pressure washed the lights and it's held up. You can buy it at Napa.

Use a semi-gloss or satin black in a spray can. Don't mask off the section, just put some newspaper behind the crashbar. This will allow you to blend in the re-paint without leaving masking lines.

Surely the added weight of the bars didn't contribute to the drop, nah.

Black paint rattle can from the hardware store. Sand first. Use newspaper or cardboard behind the bars.

Or take the Black Lab approach and use it as an excuse to spray the whole bike with Rhinoliner....
