pay back after my first tipover
Well it finally happened. This last weekend went for a ride with my wife, nice 400km ride from Moncton to Subenacadie Nova Scotia. Great ride, took all the back roads. Even did a good samaritan act for a fellow biker. Seen him pushing his bike off of the road. Pulled over and asked what his problem was. Stall. Asked him if he had any fuel, lightbulb went off, forgot he had a reserve, fired right up. I felt the gods were smiling on me, ha.
Stoped for a picnic in Wentworth Valley provincial day park. We spied a nice spot next to a river and footbridge. Now in my experience the gravel is about one half inch or less on public roads and fairly compacted, well this was not even close. The rocks were 4-8 inches in size , very loose. As soon as i hit this area the front and back tire sank 4-5 inches deep and stopped us like a brick, went over on the right. After landing on the ground and asking my wife is she ok, she said if I get off of her arm she might be able to tell me of any injuries. She hit her right elbow quite hard, scrapped it abit , thank god for the atgatt. Now for the bike, only cracked the black piece on the front right fairing ,below the suzuiki name, air duct for a better name.NO OTHER DAMAGE....
Now for some pissed off attitude. There was a group of ASSES there too. 15 or so HOGS. They saw everything happen and NOT ONE of those asses came over to help or see if we were ok.
After we dusted ourselves off ,had our picnic we drove by that group, someone hollered several derogatory phrases about sport bikes. BUT this gets better, seems a chum of mine at work his fiance parents were in that group ,saw us go down and wanted to go over, there captain of the day said no. After we left their Captain went down in the same spot, damage unkown but I bet its more than $63....
riding a bike you can forget many things, thats why i ride a bike...
