Are the Strom power wires for heated grips ok for other grips?

Thought I'd try putting those "peel and stick" heat pads I've had sitting around for some time on the outside of the stock grips before putting the Grip Puppies on. I wondered if powering them from the Stroms wiring loom thats in place already for Suzuki Heated Grips would be ok?
Or is making up a complete wire circuit for thes preferred?

The Suzuki wire loom for heated grips looked kinda small wire guage.... but maybe it's fine...dunno.

Thanks, DB

That would work fine.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Thanks. I later looked at the heat pads and the wirer guage looked similarly small. Pad resistance is 7.4 ohms.
