Light reading that could do you some good

A couple of years ago I stumbled on the msgroup site. I found hours worth of useful reading that really helped both my wife and me transition from a dirt riders to thinking as street riders. Information is there in little bite size articles.

I still like to revisit the site from time to time to brush up and remind myself of things I may have forgotten. I recently found myself out on the site again and thought others could benefit from the site. Enjoy.

I can see some otherwise billable hours being spent here.

Great info, but his writing needs help -- often when trying to explain something, he actually makes it less clear.

2010 Triumph Tiger 1050se
2009 DL650A - sold

2005 DL650 - dearly departed
"I am enthusiastic over humanity's extraordinary and sometimes very timely ingenuities. If you are in a shipwreck and all the boats are gone, a piano top buoyant enough to keep you afloat that comes along makes a fortuitous life preserver. But this is not to say that the best way to design a life preserver is in the form of a piano top.
I think we are clinging to a great many piano tops in accepting yesterday's fortuitous contrivings as constituting the only means for solving a given problem." - R. Buckminster Fuller

After 2 hrs of random sampling, I couldn't find anything I definately disagreed with him on. He gets to join my very short list of book marks. Thanks for the link.

Posters be careful though. It's the most toughly moderated site I've ever seen. I got threatened with banishment once because I said "I think a Gold Wing is a two wheeled car", and I am a site Mentor. The site owner gave me hell about all bikes being accepted without disparagement but I think the crux of the matter is he owns a Wing. The "I think" wasn't clearly enough an expression of a personal opinion for him.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s
See https://www.stromtrooper.com/general-...nicknames.html

Please vote in the poll on what Strom(s) you have at https://www.stromtrooper.com/informat...-you-have.html

Then I bet they really wouldn't like my opinion of big touring bikes with plush seats, stereos, arm rests, etc., as couches on wheels.

2018 1000XT, black. The Night's Watch. Givi engine bars, rear wheel mud guard, radiator screen. Givi V56 Litre Monokey topcase. Puig screen. Freeway Blaster horn. Speedohealer. SW Motech guards for R. brake reservoir, R. brake cylinder, exhaust pipe valve. Aprilia Tuono mirrors. GPR exhaust slip-on.
2006 DL1000, The Red Rhino. Gone for good.
