Fuses to relay, headlites, spots Fried

I went out to ride the Vee this morning.I haven't rode the bike in 8 or 9 days.
No voltage monitor. I noticed no headlights. I checked my blue seas box. Those fuses are fried. The fuse to the relay is fried also. I run the dual wolo's on a separate fuse setup outside of the box. I was just stunned. The blue sea capacity is 30 or 35 amps. I'm running a 8 or 10 gauge wire with fuse. I was running a 35 amp fuse.Dual Headlights and (2)55 watt spot lights are about 16.29 amps together.I'm going to replace my fuse holder(it's melted) and the relay.
I can't for life of me figure what would cause this mini Chernobyl.I have an EB harness for headlights. I made my own harness for the spots. Nothing else was on.All those fuses are OK.
Any ideas what caused this?

Hi, sorry to hear about your fuse issue. i dont have a clue as to why but i was wondering how you have your accessory lights wired? are they switched from the dash or hooked into the low beam wires of the strom ??

My spots are run from a switch. I use a PIAA type switch inside my left hand guard. I used some double sided rubber tape to hold the switch. I have a Rich Hughes dashboard. I have room for another switch. I like having it in the handguard. It's great 80% of the time. I accidentally hit it some times.
I started checking stuff. Spots are ok. A relay in the EB harness seems to be the culprit. A faint burn smell and the headlights don't work when I tried powering them separately. I'm pulling the harness out to see if it's chaffed anywhere. I like the EB harness because it's less wire. I prefer to have all my relays near the battery. To do headlight relays near the battery it takes twice as much wire. My beef is why the the fuses didn't "blow" instead of melting.

After 11 days of not being to work on the bike.
I fixed everything that went wrong.
I thought one of my headlight relays was fried. Nope. The burnt smell was one of my Wolo's dying. I pulled out my EB harness and checked out everything. Works OK.
I made a new fuse link to my relay. The fuse literally melted. I ran a 40 amp fuse. Mistake #1.I'm running a 30 amp fuse now. I checked the old fuselink it was missing an end. I installed a new relay to my Blue Seas.I replaced the fuses to headlights and spots because they were melted. I was running a 15 and 20 amp fuse. Mistake #2 and #3. I will be running smaller fuses. The positive ringlet on the EB wiring harness was loose(I made it).
Still I just can't see how all this cascaded into melted fuses.
Run correct size fuses and make sure all connections are tight is all the advice I can offer. Jim Davis makes a great product.
