Question Corbin Seat for DL650

Recently purchased a Corbin seat from an inmate. Got the seat and it says VStrom on inside. Does not have the latching system like my 650. It apparently came off a DL1000. Need some guidance from some one who knows Corbins. Are seats interchangeable between 650's and 1000's? Can I take the latching system off my OEM seat an put on the Corbin? If the Corbin DL1000 seat works only on DL1000...anybody wanna trade a 1000 Corbin for 650 Corbin?

Seats are interchangeable. If you check Corbin's website I think you'll find they even state you have to switch over your latching hardware.

Great, I can't wait to throw a leg over it!
Wait a sec, don't sit on it yet! Before you plant your tush, you HAVE to install it or risk damaging the seat edge. You'll notice installation is similar to stock, but may not be identical. You may need to transfer brackets from your stock seat. Because our basepan is rigid some don't require ALL of the same mounting points. In some cases installation may be slightly different than stock, but the principal will always be the same. Question? Just call us.

Corbin 1000 does not fit 650

I just looked at a Corbin seat that came off a 2008 Vstrom 1000 and it would not fit my 2007 650. For one thing the front attatchment point on the seat points directly at the radiator overflow which is situated just under the tank. On the OEM seat there are two prongs that straddle the overflow container but the Corbin has only one. It also looked like the rear attatchment might have had an issue as well but we didn't get that far. Bummer.

I just got a Corbin (Canyon?) from another member here and it fit perfectly onto my k5 wee. I didn't have to do anything to it, just swapped it for the stock seat.

Corbin

Luda, I bought a used Corbin that came off a 1000 and it required a little modding to get it to fit correctly on my 650. The front metal bar covered in leather might require a little bending, the rear latch that had to be transferred from the original Suzuki seat did not line up so I had to elongate the bolt holes on it so I could move the the latch further back, a dremmel worked great for this.

09 DL650 - fender extender, Genmar risers, Madstad w/givi screen, oem handguards, corbin seat, ML lowering pegs, Givi crashbars, SW Motech skidplate, HT hiway pegs, Givi 532 racks w/ E21's, Amotostuff adjustable topcase rack w/ Givi V46.
