Anyone think trading a new Wee seat for an old Vee seat is a mistake?

I have a brand new Wee seat, but want the taller Vee seat. I have the option of trading mine straight across for a Vee seat that has about 18k miles on it, with a fellow forum member here. It's in good condition. Anyone think this is a bad idea? Does the stock seat foam get compressed over time or are the older seats worse in some way than the newer ones?

Bought a used V seat (02 with 15k)within the first month of buying the Wee and it was still good 18k later. Then I got a Sargent .They seem to hold up well foam wise.

Personally I find the Wee seat very uncomfortable after about 30 minutes. Could never be a mistake to replace that thing. My Vee seat is still in great shape after 30+K miles. I did have it modified a little with some gel, but overall the structure is the same and holding up fine.

I'd say trade. I think Wee seats are easier to find so if you want to go back you will probably have that option. I bought a used Vee seat for me and kept the Wee seat for when I let my shorter friends ride it. I also wanted two seats so I could modify one if needed.

If you really want more legroom, get the Vee tall touring gel seat, about 3/4" taller than the stock (Vee) seat and even more comfy. Cheers--BB

I live in Fresno which gets VERY hot in the summer. I've heard the gel seat is comfortable but gets very hot. So that's why I haven't looked into it. True?

Yes, the gel will get hot if you leave it outside in direct sunlight, I'm lucky,I get to park inside where I work. I've never had a seat that didn't get hot in the sun, and will probably get a half cover anyway. BB

Don't know. Never actually sat directly on my seat. It's always been covered by a sheepskin and/or a beaded seat cover. Seat temp is a complete non-issue for me.

That's because you live in Virginia  Try riding in Fresno in August, you could be sitting on a block of ice and you'd feel the heat.
