Rattling Stebel/Wolo

Anyone else having problems with rattling noise from the cap on their Stebel or Wolo horns? That round cap on the front of the horn fits pretty loosely and, under acceleration, it makes a pretty obnoxious noise when it rattles. It sounds like the whole bike is about to fall apart. I've got mine mounted down inside the right fairing, which just adds to the effect by funneling the sound up to me.

Any recommendations? It seems like this cap is loose on purpose. Is this a key part of the horn sounding the way it does? I'm thinking maybe a couple dabs of silicone on the underside of the edges to immobilize it might do the trick, but if that's gonna deaden the sound I'll just mount the horn down lower where I won't hear it as well.

well, i wasn't going to post because i hoped someone knowing better would.

i believe what you're speaking of is a snap on weather cap, that shouldn't be loose enough to vibrate. hotglue/silicone/goop should quiet it, it's not intended to vibrate. as long as air can get up and underneath it.

on a 2nd note, i had one of these fail after a few months on my car... one winter hanging in my grill and it was toast. motor saw too much salt and water and corroded enough to fail. i believe there's a hose nipple to pull clean air from a remote source? if so, might be worth using it if it's exposed.

then again, these aren't ridden in winter so no salt...
