Line-Up Change in the Garage

Jachew2 in June 2008 with her new V-Strom.

Summer 2009.

And earlier this year because we needed to get out for a bit.

Which bring us to the present day with the recent addition to our garage.

So our time with the V-Strom has come to a close. We are pleased the Strom has found a new home with a very nice gentleman just getting back into motorcycling after a few years away. We have met him and spent some time talking motorbikes, and of course about the V-Strom.

Before she bought her Strom, I told jachew2 if the Strom did not work out for her, we would look at other motorcycles or, we could keep the Strom and continue to ride together. So, after a discussion in the garage and a few glasses of vino, she agreed to start looking for another motorbike. We are fortunate to live in our area which is rich with dealerships and after a demo ride on the 650GS, she was hooked. Her confidence increased immediately and she was hooting and hollering (heard her on the intercom and had to smile to myself) as she took off for her demo ride.

A few days later we went back to the dealership and during the course of our visit we met the new owner. We left the Caribouís, skid plate, crash bars, and centerstand on the Strom. Ultimately we gave the new owner the tankbag and made a very fair deal for the Givi screen, Madstad brackets, and the Givi topcase. The Strom is kitted out and ready to go.

He is aware of this site and I am sure with time he will introduce himself to the forum.

We wish you all the best, and hope you have a great riding season.

Take care,
JC

Ciao

That's a nice ride. Congratulation to Jachew2. Finding a bike that fits right is paramount to the whole riding experience. At 6'1" the strom was it for me. I'll keep an eye out for the 2 of you on the road.

Too bad the Strom did not work out the best overall for you. You look good riding it. Granted the BMW is a great bike as well. Many of us go through multiple bikes (or own more than one at a time) to suite our needs, but in the end it really matters what YOU like.

Congrats and good luck. Happy Riding.

Thanks Don,

The change in bikes has turned out to be just what the doctor ordered for Anitra. I miss the Strom, but I really enjoy seeing the smile on Anitra's face when we are out and about on our bikes.

We hope to see you down the road.

Take care,
Joe
