I popped the tank removed the air filter. At that point I could see the connector in between the airbox and the rad and I could just get my hand into the space in front of the airbox to plug in the grip connector to the factory option plug. Otherwise I think you would have to loosen the rad and try to pivot it forward to get at the connector. It was easier for me the way I did it as it also provided easy access to route and secure the grip wiring up to the front of the tank area. I located the harness connectors and fuse under the plastic cover in front of the tank for easy access. Sorry I did not take any pics. I should do that next time I pop the tank for future reference.
