If he was in Lolo and then following the Lochsa River, that is a very twisty piece of pavement, with some dropoffs that are full of bushes--it is concievable he went wide on a curve, went down an embankment and is covered by bushes.

This happened to a riding partner who went off the road in a curve, went thru a 'wall' of bushes and down a bank and was completely covered by foliage--there was no visual evidence he left the road.

He was dazed for awhile, managed to climb up the bank and onto the road, and was walking along the road when I found him--he was woosy and unsure where he was. We looked for his bike for an hour! Finally found it. If he had been pinned under the bike or more severely injured, it would have ended bad for him.

He had overcooked a corner, panic-braked in a straight line right off the road, leaving not a trace.

I found the latest at:
http://www.st-owners.com/forums/show...=72221&page=12
Still not found.
Since I ride alone a lot, as this rider did, I wonder if , other than the pricey Spot, is there anything available that sends a "find me" signal without the need for a button being pushed by the rider?
