Question What do I put on my Wee?

G'Day, I've just downsized from a 1250 Bandit to a DL650. I'm thinking of putting on crash bars, hand guards and a bigger screen. Should I go with the standard fare from Suzuki or go aftermarket? your feedback please. Zenn

Sounds like you've got the idea.
Nobody plans on dropping their bike. Then we usually do. Crashguards are a good place to start, assuming protective gear for your person are already taken care of.
Buffeting with the stock screen is a known problem, so it is usually replaced, as you've noted, (and/or a "Madstad" bracket is added). Some odd souls find the stock screen works just fine for them though. Maybe ride the bike for a while first to get a better sense of what you can and cannot live without.

Before people jump all over you, (or ignore you), do a few more searches here first. You will find all the opinions you will ever want on brands and types and advatages or disadvantages of every variation for all kinds of accessories. Its all up to your own wants, perceived needs and budget.

Welcome to the group and happy hunting!

What do you put on your Wee?

Well... that depends. Are you in a committed, monogamous relationship? Have you both been tested? Are you interested in having kids? Has one/both of you been fixed? Are you looking for something functional or something fun? You really need to give us more information about how you plan on using your Wee before we can give you advice.

Hepco Becker crash bars, Adventure Moto skid plate, Suzuki center stand and Pro Taper ATV high handlebars.

Change you can believe in? biggest waste of tax- payer money in the history of the US.

I'd refrain from modding too much until you spend some more time with the bike. Then mod it to fit your needs. Crashbars though are a good mod no doubt.

How do you find the Wee as opposed to the Bandit BTW?

I'd say crash bars to start, and a center stand. I have the Givi crash bars. They were reasonably proced. I use the Suzuki center stand (I got it cheap off a fellow dualsportbc.com rider). The center stand makes chain maintenance a lot easier.

Depending on riding conditions, you can likely do without the handgruards for a while. I have the Suzuki guards. They do a nice job of keeping the wind and a lot of the rain off my hands.

Eventually, you'll also likely start looking at luggage, and then the fun will really start. As for luggage, just stay away from the OEM luggage, and you should be fine.
