I seem to want to put my feet down at stops right in the middle of the footpegs! I've finally start getting my feet down in front of the pegs, but that feels like a weird position.

Anyone else have to get used to the foot peg position when stopped?

Also, I've noticed on my rides home from work that my right leg gets a bit warm. Is it normal for heat to radiate up enough from the exhaust to cause that? It wasn't really bad today, but I left a little early and didn't get caught up in the stop and go.

250 miles now, need to schedule my first maintance next week.

I've found that using the roadway for that sort of thing while stopped works exceptionally well.

Seriously though, if putting your feet forward of your pegs while at a stop works for you, go for it. Since they're spring-loaded and fold back out of the way, no worries. As far as your heat issue goes, I've never found it noticeable on my Vee. Maybe I'm just not paying close enough attention?

Or a V4 with a radiator fan that exhausts on your knee.

I do know what you are talking about. I seem to have to spread my legs way out to clear the pegs when I put both feet down. They are in a bit of an odd location but it's not a show stopper. You'll get used to it. I really do wish that they were just a bit farther back. I think that would facilitate a more comfortable riding position and get them back out of the way.

Seem like we should ask, "What are you riding?" Checked your profile and it says, "No Strom yet."

Nah.....didn't say it bothered me, just that I can feel it. Really only notice it in stop and go traffic, a total non issue on the move. Will sure feel good in Early Spring and Fall/Winter riding.

I dropped the Wee at a stop when I first got it because I wasn't used to the peg position too. Now I tend to just use tip toes outside the pegs or I'll go forward of the pegs then pull my legs back and push the pegs out of the way for longer stops.

As for the heat issue, I will notice some heat when the bike is warmed up, usually at stops when the radiator fan is running. Also, there is a heat sink or something on the right side of the frame that warms up.
