WalMart ES12BS battery

Has anyone used this battery? If so how well has it held up?

I'll tell you this, no eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.

Brother has one in his cruiser, 2 or 3 years on and no problems. He suggested it to me but I got a line new Yuasa free so I haven't tried the Wallyworld batt yet, but I wouldn't be afraid to roll the dice.

Never met a dog I didn't like, a machine I couldn't break, or a woman I couldn't tick off.

I myself like the Interstate/Yuasa brand of batteries, had a big cruiser and took a darn good battery to crank the beast. But, I've had a WW battery in my tractor for three years and don't even take it out over the winter, still going strong! I'd try one if it was a LOT cheaper. Cheers-BB

Minimum required equipment

My feeling on batteries is that the difference between a known reliable battery and a bargain battery isn't enough to balance off the chance of being stranded somewhere on the road if the bargain battery craps out, or perhaps takes some expensive parts of your charging system with it when it goes. Can generally get at least 5 reliable years out of a quality battery, so the difference divided by five is trivial. Maybe my outlook is tainted by struggling with marginal batteries in cars for years when I couldn't afford better. But I want a battery that works, all the time. At the first indication of failing, they get changed. Maybe the WW batteries roll off the same assembly line as the high-priced spread (although I doubt it). Maybe you'll get great service for five years or more out of them. I guess I want more than 'maybe'.

I have the Wally World Everstart battery in my Valkyrie. This is the 6th season for it. I wouldn't be afraid at all to put one in the Wee. Besides, there are very few battery manufacturers, they just crank 'em out & ship them with various labels on them.

I live in my own little world, but it's OK, they know me here.

I guess the Wally is maintenance free AGM or gel or whatever?

These batteries used to have a good reputation among the muscle car guys, but I don't know if they are still well-regarded. I would try one, if it were cheaper by a significant amount. I tend to buy the Yuasa batteries.

As I mentioned before, I have an Everstart battery in my Valkyrie & this is the 6th season for it. This discussion goes on at the VRCC site too, which is the best battery(or anything else). One Valkyrie owner bought a battery at WalMart & before he installed it in his bike he peeled the label off. Ya know what was under that Everstart name? Yuasa!!!!!!!

I put one in my DL650 and it was going strong a year later when I sold the bike. Nothing wrong with these batteries and an exceptional value (<$50).
