The Jiffy Stand developed by Harley Davidson is a definite improvement over the typical side stand, and likely would have prevented this occurrence.

I've not had my Vee toppled by the wind, but I did have someone (apparently) bump into it in a parking structure and knock it over. No apology note, of course. Side case and nerf bars took some scratches, but saved everything else.

Don't look back - you're not going that way.

In addition to what Big Boy does when parking I also lock my steering which puts more lean (and weight) on the side stand. An added bonus to locking the steering...it deters theft and someone playing around with the handlebars while I'm not around.

😎

1971. Bell helmet. Pretty much top of the line at that time.

Full face helmets were unknown to street riders for a few more years.....

......and the sun visor proclaimed that I knew what I was doing and didn't care what anyone else thought.

Don't wear that helmet anymore, but I still have the attitude. 😎

I'm sure you also noted the quart size oil cans in the rack. Been a while, eh?
