I was reading the topic about the Evel Knievel museum, and it got me thinking about searching out some other motorcycle museums. Maybe I could string together a trip that hits several of them, like some baseball fans like to do with ballparks.
I of course know about the big ones, like the AMA Motorcycle Museum in Ohio, and The Barber in Alabama. And the Harley-Davidson Museum is just up the road from me. I've also heard the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles has a good motorcycle collection. Any other must-sees?
Other than the HD, the only other MC museum I've visited is the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, IA. It was a nice day trip for me, and had a good selection of bikes from all eras. They also have a great board track display that gives a real appreciation for how crazy those tracks were in their day.
Any other suggestions?
