Hurray Vstroms

I just rolled in after a 1 hr ride on my brothers old VFR that he stores at my house. I am here in colonial New England which has a amazing amount of colonial roads which serviced the horse age small farms of the day. These are wonderfully twisty but usually poorly maintained. I did NOT take those roads but stayed on the numbered "Improved" roads. The vfr found every crack, patch, frost heave with a jarring impact (note have not fooled with its suspension). Meanwhile my old K6 Vstrom (progressive springs front, Sasquatch shock) sales over all of these things. I bought the Strom to follow a GIXXER1K so I would go exploring and this reminded me why I made the correct choice for the REAL WORLD

2 completely different types of machines, plus you have a suspension set up for you on the Strom. I had ridden all over the NE part of the country on a Concours 1400, and the same roads on my V-Strom were much more enjoyable due to exactly what you speak of. Plus.....gravel and unpaved roads were much more fun to ride on the Strom as well. LOL
