Things you find inside your tire

First I found a 2 inch nail in my weestrom rear tire in the driveway, still holding air, plugged, not very exciting.

Then my KLR picks up a 3 inch chunk of something at speed, much more exciting. I did not realize the metal piece was still completely _inside_ the tube until I was about to toss it.

As a shop employee who changes tires I've found...

Broken and whole valve stems.
Shaft of a screw driver, flathead, 1/4" wide.
Razor blade from a box cutter.
Razor blade from a window scraper.
Too many screws and nails to count.
Gallons of slime (stuff doesn't work at all.)
Two tires with Ride On, which did seal the puncture (screws in both cases.)
A rather fat bolt, 2" long.
A rubber glove.
A wet wipe.
A billion of those plastic balance beads (we hate these; lots of rubber dust and they go everywhere.)
A stick-on wheel weight, white, which was odd as the rim it came out of was a stock CBR600RR rim painted factory black with black weights.
notacop likes this.

Being slow doesn't make a boring bike. I had a R1 which I thought was boring. Boring is a bike that doesn't speak to you. If you like what your bike is saying let it's voice take you to far flung places. - Vertical C
