Bike cover sizing

Hi folks, I've done some browsing on bike covers. I have a specific question on sizing. I have had the pictured Nelson Riggs Defender XL for many years, and the stitching is letting go right over the Givi small saddle bag. I bought it for a Virago with luggage, and I thought it fit my Strom ok. I use it only at work where it sits in the Arizona sun every day. I need UV protection mainly. I want to cover all the paint and all the plastic, which this does. So I'm not interested in the half cover, though I can see it's benefits.

My old cover held up so well that I thought, no brainer, I'll get another one. Well, NR changed their models over the years and I got led down the research rabbit hole like a moth to a flame.

I see there are some proponents for the XXL size cover, so I'm considering that. Why though? I kinda figured that what isn't covered on mine now doesn't need to be covered. But maybe the extra fabric would not stress the cover as much where it lays over the extremities of the wide cases. But on the other hand, NR now makes an Adventure cover in their top line which appears to fit about the same as my XL.

Anybody have an opinion on XL vs XXL vs Adventure?

Thanks, Jeremy

I have the NR Adventure size cover for my 2018 650XT with topcase and side panniers. It fits well. I cannot comment on the other sizes you mentioned as I have not had any experience with them. But the ADV covers all plastic, front and read fenders, side cases and foot pegs. The quality seems fine but I have only had it for a couple of months, so no real testimonial to longevity.
Hope that helps!
