Quite few in fact and I personally I know few more that wouldn't mind to go back from 1000 to 650. In my case from Vee to Wee and than to Wee2. Never regreted it.

I went from a 1000 to a 650, though my liter-bike wasn't a Strom.

I owned a Kawasaki Concours ZG1000 immediately before getting my DL650. While the Connie was a great bike that I truly enjoyed, I was never comfortable with that 600+-lb. bike at slow speeds. And all that plastic meant even a minor tip-over resulted in expensive repairs.

I knew I'd miss the power a little bit (there's no replacement for displacement, right?), but I feel like I've gained so much more in owning a lighter, more maneuverable bike that I'm much more confident on.

I won't rule out ever going back to a bigger bike, but I'm super happy with the smaller bike for now.

If it's a good day to wash the bike, it's a better day to ride the bike.

I've not owned a DL1000, but I did go from a DL650 for 4 years to a Yamaha FJR1300 for 7 years, and now I'm back to an '18 DL650. Lighter weight and toned down power from the DL650 is just fine for me.

If I wasn't hauling a pillion I would have gone for the 650. However the 1000 is much more at ease when two up and fully loaded with luggage. The bike that I use most is a 750 X-Adv but when I take the Strom out for a spin solo I find myself going way too quick on my favoured backroads because of the ease with which the 1000cc motor does its business. As such a smaller motor requires more input and I tend to be much more aware of my speed.

Actually I meant any 1000c so thanks for your opinion.
I never own 1000cc bike, just tested only so I'm curious if that kinda displacement is really needed even for 2up
as my 500cc exc makes a ton of power My other 2 bikes are lacking though for 2up and these are xt660z and nc750x
but that's the design really not cc issue.
I don't think bike need to be heavy and have 1000cc to provide close to 100hp, does it?
That 75hp of DL650 is I guess a sweet spot.
