Shop manual??

I just bought a '08 Vstrom and was wondering which shop manual you prefer to use?

Thanks

I have a Haynes/Clymer manual for each of my cars and bikes, including the 07 Wee. I've been using them since I bought my first car, I find them quite reliable.

Actually, I bleeb this forum discourages pirated copies of the factory manual.
In case you missed it, there are other posts about the manual and whether folks are selling the originals or knock offs.
Often a member will have a copy for sale after they sell their bike.

The factory manual is best if you are doing major work, has specs for everything but assumes you are a mechanic in a dealership. The Clymer/Haynes are geared more toward the do- it- yourselfer. Both are picture heavy, which is always good.

The official Suzuki website https://www.genuinesuzukimanuals.com/ is where they sell the DL650 2004-11 manual for $90, so it would seem to be very good business for an online Suzuki dealer to sell that item for $84.95.
However there is a dispute going on concerning piracy with some who have purchased their manuals from the above official website saying that their manuals look like this:

Where others say that their genuine manual looks like this:

The important thing here is that the top image is the cover of the 2012-14 DL650, and the bottom image is for the 2004-11 DL650.

Hola, Brockie, the French version, Blue, white and red is the version I got here.
Hopefully it is the authorized version.
Would be nice to knew for sure. Is a three holer or the 6 holer the correct manual?

I really do not know, but surely Suzuki Japan could not be the only printer of the worlds Suzuki service manuals. Or could it? Are there any dealership employees around who know where their manuals are printed?
One thing I do know is if you are in doubt, scan one of the wiring diagram pages of your manual and then resize it (in MS Paint) by 500%.
The image in a genuine manual will remain clear and readable - the copied version will become very blurry and possibly unreadable.
