Indian Demo Days

I went out to a local dealership to explore an Indian Motorcycles Demo Day.

They had the Scout, Springfield, and Roadmaster available to ride. I love the look of the motor on the Scout, so I decided to take it out. Some of my thoughts.

* Its LOUD!
* Huge power delivery from the friction point on. One of the guys after the ride just kept talking about how many cubic inches each motor was as if nothing else was important.
* Scraped pegs on both sides when performing what I felt were normal turns.
* Lack of a wind screen freaked me out on the highway with all the wind hitting me.
* So low to the ground, everything felt extra fast.
* Not much suspension, so I felt all the bumps.
* My left side was getting warm from the exhaust pipes.

After the test ride, I realized that I should have ridden one of the other bikes with a wind screen for a more fair comparison. But I just loved the look of the Scout.

Probably the best part of the whole test ride (besides the free lunch) was getting back on my '17 Wee and heading out. My bike has all the power and features that are important to me. I'm not down on Indian after this (and would have loved to test ride the FTR 1200 which they were not offering), just loving on my Wee even more! Its always nice to want what you have!

Good point, it was my right side that was warm from the pipes. I rode the blue one like the image above. The look is amazing, the ride was just not for me.

The pix (by Lrobby99), reminds me of the days when I used to ride my less powerful Honda Steed 600 (Shadow). Great for riding around town, with it's loud pipes. My Wee remains my go to bike.

Indian doesn't even have a dealership in H-D heavy Milwaukee.
One in an outlying suburb.
But I think it would be grudgingly respected by our "H-D Mystique" folks.
Not that I'm going to find out.
