V Strom ABS 2019 versus earlier

I took a 2018 Strom out for a test ride the other day and quite liked it. However my initial plan was to wait til next year to get a new bike, likely a left-over 2019.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that they had made some significant changes to the ABS system in the 2019s which allowed it to better take into account lean angle.

Am I right or is that the same on the 2018s?

Hmm. No mention of the 2019 having updated ABS that I can tell. There is mention of TC being included on the DL650, which may be new for 2019?

If TC is an abbrev. for traction control, the 2017 has three traction control settings; off, 1 & 2, with 2 being the most invasive.

I think the only difference in NA from 2017 to 2019 is some color options and possibly, 4 way/ hazard lights. But hey, I'm no super genius.

2017 DL 650 and maybe another Vespa?

I'm having an adventure- so, its an adventure bike.
Now that summer is here, I'm retiring so I can ride full time.

It's the same on the 2018, that's when they made the significant changes. In that model year Suzuki introduced the Bosch IMU that enables lean sensitive ABS. They also included their "combined" braking system, this is not "linked" braking but rather at a certain threshold of front brake it will apply some rear brake).

Believe that system is only on the 1000's.

That is absolutely true. My apologies if OP was referring to the 650.

Ah! Thank you! I pulled the trigger and I'm picking up a 2018 demo in the next week or two.
