Cdn Suzuki deals right meow

Just to let you guys know, suzuki canada has 2 great deals for vstrom owners:

Vstrom 1000 2014-2016: Knuckle guards at 29.99$

If they had offered some of those for the 1000 i would have been tempted!

For americans, when you consider the exchange rates, it's an even bigger deal

How tough are these hand guards? Are they all plastic or is it closer to a barkbuster?

They are all plastic, good for wind, rain, rocks, branches, but not meant to take impact from a semi truck or protect you from bullets, or men with baseball bats.

LOL

Its not hard plastic, in order to absorb impacts and lessen the hit to the levers, they don't usually break, they just scratch and leave battle scars to make your bike look cool and impress the ladies.

They do deflect wind and rain like Bugzy said, very useful when it get to 0C

pretty much useless lol

They are not at the right height to do much of anything and are made of flimsy plastic. Consider them as an appearance upgrade only.

I would have to disagree on the hand guards. I wanted either the oem or barkbusters for the sole reason of cutting down on cold wind. If I didnt find the oem at $30, i probably wouldnt have either. But, at $30, they do what i want them to do. Hands are warmer and drier. The coverage isnt 100%, but i think its fine. Protection from impact?..Minimal im sure but better than nothing. I wouldnt buy them if that was the intent. The oem guards have a place, but only at that $30 price point, and only for some weather protection.

of course they didn't break... they are flimsy. Which also means if you use them as actual bark busters they will flex and possibly cause damage to your hand. The protection they offer is very little.
