When you read some websites it seems like a lot of people ride to Alaska but based on the detail of Alaska travelers it really is a short list.

Based on the (2016) data - "55% of the people that went to Alaska went on a cruise ship, 40% went by air and 5% went by highway". 3% of the group that went by highway were traveling on a motorcycle."

Only 2% of all visitors went to the far northern Alaska areas.
"Southeast is the most visited region in Alaska, capturing 67 percent of the overall market, followed by Southcentral (52 percent), Interior (29 percent), Southwest (4 percent), and Far North (2 percent)."

More detail on the far north.
Only 2% of all travelers to Alaska went to the far north.
Of the group that went to the far north ONLY 15% went by highway.
56 percent of all visitors that went to far north were traveling for vacation/pleasure.

If you rode to the far north on a motorcycle you are in a very small percentage of travelers to Alaska.

Partner ( who doesn't ride) and I did that in 2014 over 5 weeks ( we did Yukon as well )

Make sure you do Valdez and The Lulubelle if the weather cooperates. This whale played for 1/2 hour in front of us.

If you can - take a Talkeetna Air Taxi trip - Denali was clouded over but landing on a glacier with the clouds hovering was life altering....so gorgeous

That and The Lulubelle were highlights of the trip.
