My 650 started leaving it's mark.

I noticed last weekend that there was a couple little oil spots on the garage floor under the bike. I had just changed the oil a couple weeks before and figured I just missed them during clean up. Well, last night I noticed a new one. The drain plug is clean. Actually, the whole bottom is clean. It looks like there is a little up on the engine, but the wind has pushed it all over the place. I'm going to spray it down and clean it up real good and see if I can figure out where it's coming from.

It only has 24k miles...so I doubt it's anything major.

Doncha hate it when a bike gets incontinent and starts spotting on a clean garage floor? At 99K miles my engine gets dirty but I don't see floor spots since i fixed a leaky fork seal.
Happy hunting for the culprit.

Another possible source of small random oil drips under Stroms, SVs, and TLs.....If you are running oil level near top of window and are doing a bit of higher speed/rpm, some oil can vaporize, blow back into & collect in the airbox... Check the little drain hose from the airbox that dumps out at the bottom of the bike...

This is my suspicion, but till I get it all cleaned up, I won't know for sure.

Mine has been weeping oil from the frame sliders and oil cooler for a very long time. Doesn't seem to be getting any worse, but I do have a new oil cooler on hand with aluminum crush washers just in case it does.

Seems to be a thing: https://www.stromtrooper.com/dl650-d...-oil-leak.html

It's not something I worry about anymore.

This seems to be the problem. And it is getting worse. With only 25k miles, it may be enough for me to unload and look at something different. I don't mind the occasional spot on the floor, but when it's on my boots, that's too much.

Yikes, and that's coming out the engine mounts? If it's just the cooler or lines, I'd bite the bullet and replace both. You can get coolers and lines on ebay listed for the SV650 for next to nothing and they go on pretty easily.

Yes, the problem seems to be a break in the case gasket that allows oil to get into a void that the motor mount bolt goes thru. At least that is what others have found.
