Oh and as for the whole waving thing, sometimes I feel like it and sometimes I don’t....I much prefer the helmet nod to be quite honest.

Yeah - here in Aus it's a hard to descibe twist of the head and nod.....sort of a non-verbal "ain't it great".
No one waves.

We aren't the only ones stuck with the "wave/don't wave" thing. I dunno if it's like that everywhere, but down here the Jeep guys wave at each other. The Corvette drivers do it too, though I could be misinterpreting that; most of the 'Vette drivers down here in retirement land are 70 years old plus, and that wave might actually just be palsy.

As a Jeep owner for 30+ years, I know the "wave thing". Funny how I always get a wave when I drive my CJ7 but in my Commander? Never. Oh well, if they only knew really it is a " real" Jeep.
That being said, you could always put a wave-hand sticker on your left mirror like all the nooB Jeep JK owners seem to love!

Having JKU and a bike I really wish the wave thing would fade away. I get waved at by the JeepTards and the zillion bikes everywhere I go....I think I might need a wrist replacement soon

I took our little 50cc scooter with my son in law on my wife's little scooter and went to a nearby town to find a part for his RV last weekend. We both ride 1000 cc Suzys. I found myself wanting to wave but feeling unworthy. If someone waved, I responded. Normally, I wave to anything on two or three wheels, including bicycles. I used to have a 38' sailboat. Got married, sold the sailboat and got a 17' runabout. Had the same experience as another inmate posted earlier. Even the guys I used to race against/with stopped waving. Harley guys are the least prone to wave but many do.

I don't love the wave, but typically do wave.

When I really appreciate the wave is when it's super early/late in the season, cold, wet, or in the middle of nowhere and you see a like minded rider. Then I feel I've made a connection and the wave means something. Not when I pass someone out for a half hour ride on a warm Sunday afternoon

Back in '05 my brother bought his 1st motorcycle, a brand-new Suzuki S40. 650 Single, belt-drive. Very torquey. Good cruiser. Top speed before I rejetted it, 85. Afterwards, 93.
It was funny riding behind him on 2-lane country roads. Typically a Harley would be approaching him from the other lane, waving(or pointing at the ground at a backwards angle, like "The Kewl Kids"). Then when they got close enough to see it was Suzuki rider they were waving at their arm dropped like a stone, eyes straight ahead. I counted 5 times on one of our excursions.

Here's what I do: I try to take the "high road" and wave to everyone but I generally don't look at them to see if they wave back, just keep my eyes on the road. That way I'm courteous to everyone but I'm not bugged if they don't wave back.
