Any Canadians who bought Holan cases?

I'm toying with the idea of getting some Holan Nomada Pro cases for my 650 and was hoping to get input from any Canadians as to how much they had to pay in duties and taxes.

Thanks,

Dave

I didn't buy them, but my V-Strom has the non-Pro Nomada cases. The owner before me did buy them, probably sometime in 2015. When I was buying it, he mentioned that he wouldn't do it again, something about really poor communication, and very long shipping times. Things may have changed though.

Something to consider, if you have any issues with them, you then have to ship them back to Poland and wait for them to be returned. For example, both of my cases leak. If by chance they were under warranty, not a chance I would bother shipping them across the world for repair.

For something like this, I think buying a product with local (or reasonably local) support is a much better idea. Holan's these days are priced fairly similarly with the competition, I don't see the point.

Current: '15 Tenere ES - 30k km
Past : '06 FZ6 - 115k km, '06 KTM 625 SMC - 30k km, '06 V-Strom 650 - 80k km, '07 FZ1 - 70k km

No duty on motorcycle parts but they might charge you taxes tough.

@ redger: thanks for the insights. I understand the issues buying at a distance like that but for me a lot of it is about the look. The Holan racks and cases are (to my eyes) simply the best at creating some sort of visual symmetry to the rear of the 650. Happy Trail addresses it quite well too but their cases donít look too pleasing to me. Although I do like the idea of their hinges. I could add Givi cases to their racks... but Iím not a fan of most of the cases that will fit them. Yes Iím being picky.

@Rick123 : thanks. Taxes and shipping will make quite a difference to the price.

If your going to spend that much, maybe consider the LoneRider motobags

https://www.lonerider-motorcycle.com/products/motobags

These looks pretty nice, and not rigid, so they won't bend in a tip over, also won't crush your leg if it gets stuck under it in a crash.
