DL1000 engine skirt on DL650?

Odd question that came up, which I didn't see addressed anywhere:

Is it practical to transplant the plastic engine skirt/bumper/cover/whatever it's called from a 2007 DL1000 to a 2012 DL650?

I'm thinking the answer is "no" because the skirt mounts to brackets which attach to the engine, and since the engines are different the brackets would end up in the wrong place. That's assuming the DL650 engine uses the same 8mm bolts to make it possible to attach the brackets in the first place.

But I don't have a DL650 to try, so for all I know it's possible.

I suspect not either. I can't even find out what the thing is really called. Searching "Vstrom DL1000 engine skirt" turns up a bunch of other stuff on eBay et al.

It's called the under cowling. It's #7 on the side cowling page of the parts fiche.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s
