Moonshine Lunch Run

https://moonshine-run.com/Moonshine/

Registration for the annual Moonshine Lunch Run is up. Last year, over 3,000 Moonburgers were served to riders from all over the country. The date is April 14 in Moonshine, IL, population - 2. Great way to start a new riding season. Check it out!
The originator’s quote, “If you don’t make it to Moonshine, you’re just a motorcycle owner, not a motorcycle rider”. Very true at that time of the year in the Midwest.

If there was any good riding in Illinois, I would actually consider doing this.

Cut across through the Hoosier national forest area, as well as some other state forests. Yep, in Indiana. It is only about 30 miles across the border.

I went back in 2007 and again last year. I really enjoyed it in 2007, not so much last year. It has become a "poker rally" type of atmosphere. The cruiser crowd has pretty much taken it over. Still plenty of great riders that go but sooooooo many Harley owners...

I never made it there while ACL was with us, to meet him would have been my reason to go. Now, it sounds like it is a victim of it's own success. I may eat a moonburger this year, but not in April.

The burgers are indeed very good.

But yeah, it's a very dull ride once you get much west of Bloomington, Indiana, and it's a big dull crowd, mostly cruisers.

One of those things you should go see once, I guess.

If it's decent riding weather, I usually go hit the twistys in southern Indiana instead.

ACL’s memory is why I go. That and to meet up with some folks I only see once a year, at this event, on Thursday night. I get my Moonburger early Saturday morning then head home to avoid the crowd. ACL was as good a man as I have ever met.

Been there the last 5 or 6 years. I live close enough that I go for the rough road ride, hang out at Moonshine a few minutes looking at bikes, and head home. Think I've waited for a burger twice.
