Cam Lock

Macdoc shows what looks like a Cam Lock, which I had a Vstar 650 cruiser. It worked well in that I could take my hand off completely however, it really did lock the grip so to climb a hill you had to unlock it and relock it. I though it was dangerous at first. I have Kaoko on DL650K7 and while I can completely remove my hand, I can also move the grip so the throttle setting is easily adjustable. The chromed Cam Lock was not much cheaper. There are dozens of different Koako versions including mine, which isn't much, but it works with Bark Busters. I think the price reflects retailers tendency to double their price, the cost of engineering and producing many versions of the product. If the motive is hand numbness, you have to be able to take your hand completely off and the longer the better. Note in another thread somebody said sit ramrod straight and the numbness goes away. It's true. Any traction on the right arm is curative: you wouldn't think a Heil Hitler salute would stop the numbness but it will work just fine, but then, to do it you gotta take your hand off the grip. So, salute him with your thumb and index finger lightly on the grip: As long as the local Seattle Liberals don't catch on to what you're doing, you can ride around these parts fearlessly regarding numbness and invest the difference.

go to lowes and drop .20 on a short piece of wire and zip tie it to the mirror stem works great and you can reposition the throttle and the wire stays put. I do remove it in heavy traffic because it is simply adding resistance and it slows throttle response.

Has anybody tried the ATLAS on a Wee? I like the concept and the application, but Iíd like to know if it is satisfactory on less than billiard-table-smooth roads ( I donít mean off-road obviously)!

I just shouldn't ride any bikes with "real" cruise control and I won't feel bad at all.
Hey South. Could you measure the distance between the middle of your grip and the end of the Go Cruise? I am trying to figure out what to buy and I want to see if the Go Cruise length will clear my Bark Buster hand shield. Thanks.

I suggest you contact the Go-Cruise company or one of the many companies that sell them for this information.

Also, the last post in this thread was two years ago. It's pretty likely the original posters are not monitoring it anymore. So addressing someone specifically is not going to work. You may want to try a PM (Personal Message) but before you do so, it's a good idea to look up the profile of the person and see when he/she last posted here.

In this case you're lucky 'cause SouthPaw56 posted four days ago, so is still around.

From the middle of the grip to the end of the Go Cruise is 3 1/2 in. I have my factory brake lever set at the #2 position and it barely extends past the lever. I don't have any hand guards at present.

Regards

p.s. Had to pull the cover off my baby since it's still in winter slumber. I hope to wake it up this week ( 51/2 months....Ugh!)

Thank you very much for the information and I am sorry that my question generated extra work on your part. Despite what other people said on here, it is nice to have forum members answer questions.

I have the Go-cruise 2 with Barkbuster hand guards and no problem with clearance. I recommend it, I use mine a lot.
