Lets play a game

As I ride along I like to play a little game. Its sort of a "what if" or "if I hada" game. This one I sit on my wee and I feel great. All the little parts come together for me on the wee. The game can be "what is my next bike?", the answer is the next generation Vstrom 650. But the other game is what I would change about my 07, what I would like, what I don't like and what I'm going to do to make it even better. So far my wish list is pretty slim, and pretty vain. 1/ I wish the dash panel was different. The batman's cloak look isn't my favorite. I also would like the gauge bezel to have some color. 2/ I wish the brakes had more feel. 3/The rear fender is truly ugly. 4/ I hate black wheels, all black anyway. 5/I wish it had a center stand so I could lube the chain more often. That's about it, really. The only one I can't do much about is the dash panel. sI plan on pulling the gauge surround and painting it to match the tank. The others are pretty easy to fix and realistically, how important are they? Other than the standard "more power", what would be on your list?

My game is easy... I wish I actually had time to ride my bike as is and enjoy what I have... live in the moment.

If you have time on your hands in the winter, guys have removed the paint from the rim part of the wheel and polished the aluminum, then clear-coated it to make the shine last. I did see one in person. The rider lives around here. Looks very nice. And the rear fender can be shortened and I keep threatening to do that on my Vee but haven't yet. Some have gone to very extreme shortening, like to the top of the license plate (when in the stock position), using a spring system to hold the plate just under the rear rack. Just a couple ideas for you. Have fun with it. Bobby
