First proper trip

I'm in the process of planning our first proper trip. I've mostly used my 2014 DL650 for commuting and enjoying weekend lunch rides. My wife and I have taken a couple of long weekend trips out to the Texas Hill Country but this will be our first out of state trip. We are going from Houston, Texas to Harrison, Arkansas to ride the Ozarks for a week. I know it's not a super long journey but I'm viewing it as another stepping stone towards the cross country trip I would like us to make one day. Anyway, to say I'm excited is an understatement. I've got my wife and I new riding jackets and riding pants from Fieldsheer. They are very nice, I'm really impressed with the quality, plus I got a great deal from a link on this forum to Competition Accessories. I also just ordered a center stand for the bike, so I'm super stoked about that too. It will make lubing the chain while on the trip a piece of cake. We are going to be based in Harrison, AR like I mentioned and will head out everyday from there. I've got a cool brochure from Motorcycling Arkansas that has routes that lists all the cool things to see along each route and of course places to eat. Like I said, I'm really excited and wanted to share.

Thanks, I will update and take pics for sure. Trip not til Spring but it's all coming together nicely. Got the rooms booked as well. I would leave tomorrow if I could... Can't wait!

I agree the Ozarks look amazing! So excited it's pretty much all I can think about.

Sounds fantastic. Although spring is right around the corner, I suspect it will be a long time coming for you. Looking forward to pics and a thorough ride report when the trip starts.
