Question Touch Up Paint?

Does Suzuki sell touch up paint for V-Strom plastic? I've scratched the hell out of my right-side plastic on my orange 2012, and am not really into the idea of paying for new plastic when it'll likely just get scratched again eventually.

I've been considering a vinyl wrap, but that's a lot of damn work particularly when you figure in having to disassemble the entire front plastic to get the piece around the headlights off. So I was thinking, gee, if I could get some touch up paint, that'd be plenty for the time being.

If not, I suppose I could see about getting some from a body shop, but that could get costly since they'd have to custom mix it.

Most colors are metallics requiring an expensive and multi step process. You can get matching paint but it is expensive.

See ColorRite Motorcycle Paint

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Perfect, thanks! They have a touch-up pen for $15.95. That's about what I figured it'd cost anyway.

If you're ever looking for an alternate solution for touch up paint (like to repair small chips or scratches), you can look in the nail polish aisle of a drug store. They have a ton of different shades, and I've used that to paint scratches on both my motorcycle and my bicycle.

You can also try Testors Model Master paints. They have a line of paints made for people who build car models, and there are a lot of shades in their line that can be matched up to a motorcycle for things like painting over chips and scratches.

Good idea... may go that route first. I was going to spend the $16 but then while checking it out it starts pestering me saying I need clear coat or it won't "dry" correctly or some crap, so I said to hell with it and closed the tab. I'll go the nail polish or model paint route instead. Even close but not perfect will be better than the black scratches on it now.

I bought a Concours 14 that the guy had used that exact brand touch up stick on.. the spots he touched up looked worse then if he had just left it scratched.

Handle Bars: Scratched the handlebars on my 2014 DL1000 - a gold-khaki. Went to ColorRite Motorcycle Paint site and found their Suzuki PRU Desert Khaki, but suspect this is not handlebar specific.

Because the surface of the handlebar is curved, AdvancedDiscountAuto Paint Store can't use their gee-whiz color camera and computer to 'capture' the color to make a match. They tried to match by eye, but couldn't get it.

Options: (1) Leave it alone and try not to look at it. (2) Find something similar and spray paint the WHOLE handlebar or (3) If it keeps me awake at night, buy a NEW handlebar.

IMHO, the fancy finishes on metal parts are very attractive and seem to be very fragile.
