In fill opening filters

Home - Guglatech Filtermaster

Anyone heard of these before? Just noticed it on the G650 Forum. Seems like a wonderful 1st line of defense.
Kinda like the chamois folks used in Baja years ago.

Seems like 40 Euros for a drop in device. About $45.

Maybe

If you are usually riding in third-world countries with uncertain fuel sources, then, sure. If you are buying your fuel from a top-tier source in this country that sells a lot of fuel, I doubt it would do you any good.

Jim,
We read about guys with fuel problems on this site all the time. How many are running exterior filters to save time and effort to service?
I've not had fuel problems but several here seem to run into bad luck.
Too bad it cost so dang much!

That would be great to have before departing on a trip to remote locations. I wonder if it would stop the splash out that happens when filling too.

You would want to have ultimate confidence in the product though, if it ever fell apart inside your tank you could find yourself stuck. I suppose taking it out between fills would be dangerous and smelly.

I like the idea.

I use a special funnel, with a fine screen filtration, when I fuel all my ZTR's and other Farm stuff like my 2 tractors. I don't carry it with me to use when I fuel my bikes though.

There is as much "poop" in our domestic gas as anywhere else I'm sure so a pre-filter couldn't hurt.

I don't know about this fuel filter. Me and my strom have been committed for a long time....I prefer riding bare back myself.
