Fun ride yesterday - Rim of the World Highway

It's been many years since I have been to Big Bear Lake, since my adult children were small. After seeing an article in Road Runner Magazine I decided it was time check it out again.

Great day for the ride sunny and cool in the mountains. Some road repair work going on but otherwise good road conditions.

A little over 300 miles.

It did drop some but not as much as I was expecting. I've seen Big Bear Lake this low before, years ago. If you look at my pic at the opposite shore where the vegetation stops, that used to be the average level of the lake. It is down a significant amount by surface acreage but, again, not as much as I expected.

Pardon my ignorance, Crescent Highway rings a bell with me but I can't place it. Where is it located?

It is a typo/autocorrect on mine and Asus pad side. I meant to say Angeles Crest highway

We were at hoover dam last month and the level looked really low, even comparing to 2014

I knowed you meant Hwy 2, what else is near here? You want low? In the 50's the lake was gobs less than now.
There are actually a several back roads in the Sn Berdu mountains that are good. One needs just to find them.
The North Shore Cafe in Fawnskin run by Richard has quite good food. A bit pricey though.

I use a combination of Rand McNally road atlas, pashnit, Motorcycleroads.com and other sites to find good tracks. Google has street view, so you can actually look at the roads.

Talked to son and they went over 38/18/138 he was talking about road 1 lane wide and honking before turns

I went up on the 18 and back on the 38. Both roads were wide 2-3 lanes in good condition so the single lane must be on the 138. The nest time I go up there I may do the 138 to the 18 to the 330 and back down.

Angeles Crest/Hiway 2 is on my to-do list too.
