What to bring on a trip

What items would you guys recommend taking on a multi day trip? My wife and I are taking a trip on my dl650 next weekend. It's not going to be super far, about 700 mi. We'll split it up and stay in hotels, so no camping equipment required. I've planned it out, just want to see if anyone had ideas (i.e. Tools, other equipment I may have forgotten.)

There's a million topics on this and since you're going to be in hotels the only thing you need are clothes, toiletries, and tools. Don't forget your cash and credit cards.

Depending on your riding boots, foot wear for walking.
Sun screen.
Spare key.
Lock for the bike.
Already has been mentioned, but worth repeating. Credit card!

Good all around gear, ibuprofen, and credit cards. Don't get crazy with tools, but a Slime pump and tire plug kit might be wise to get if not already. As was mentioned, there are many threads on this topic, but I am sure you will get some more good advice.......don't over think it.

For a trip like that I usually carry:

sunscreen
lipbalm
bug spray
eye drops
ibuprophen or naproxin
spare glasses or contacts and plenty of solution
ear plugs
in-ear headphones
two water bottles tucked into my bags in case I break down
small tool kit
tire patch kit and pump (and know how to use them, watch some videos and read the instructions beforehand)
small first aid kit
wetwipes and hand sanitizer
toilet paper
phone charger (and a spare too)
flashlight
multitool
spare key

There are many threads, and some great videos online about this topic. Everyone's list is different. Just ask yourself, what do I need to be safe, comfortable, clean, warm, dry, cool, and survive in case you break down. Number one? Keep the Mrs. happy. You might even look into bluetooth intercoms for your helmets. Or not. Depends. LOL.

Much depends on where you are riding, some places are very remote.......it does make a difference.

Bring half of the stuff you think you'll need and twice the amount of money you planned on.
